Traveling by car gives us freedom of movement, almost unlimited luggage, and, most importantly, the ability to change your route at any time. Also, it is a great way to travel while avoiding crowded airports and flight check-ins. Car travel allows you to visit places where it is impossible to walk or take a tour. On the other hand, it has some special features and challenges. Particularly, it’s often rather difficult to eat healthily, our meals are often replaced by hot dogs from the gas station, and it becomes acceptable to eat Snickers instead of breakfast. And in case of a long trip, it will add unwanted feelings.

It’s common knowledge when we’re bored, we find the closest snack and binge, and that tends to happen when you’re on a road trip. And I am here to help you find some healthy snacks to eat while on the road that will keep you feeling full, nourished.

1. Fresh apples

Just cut it and put it in the containers. The main advantage of apples is that they are sour – it keeps you awake.

2. Fruit chips

Apples are the best for it, but it can be whatever you like. The preparation takes more time to cut and dry it, but it will stay fresh and tasty without the fridge for a long time and don’t have much weight.

3. Carrot

Similar to apples, you can put it in the containers. Carrot is one of the best options because it stays fresh for several days. Also, it will keep you busy for a long time =)

4. Grapes

Similar to carrots, grapes are a great option for when you’re bored and want to eat something on the road. Healthy, clean, and easy to eat, grapes will help stave off the boredom.

5. Tasty tea in thermos

When you feel you are hungry, start with the water or tea. Our body often mixes thirst and hungry. Another option is to take boiling water in the thermos and tea bags. It is a good choice if you prefer to make the tea directly before the meal and would like to make a stop along the way.

6. Yogurt

As it has a short shelf life, you should eat it first.

7. Pistachios

It’s a good source of fats and fiber. Although, they are much lower in terms of calories than other nuts.

Sometimes all you need is a crunch. All low-cal, high fiber, and pre-popped leaves you with no need for a microwave, chemicals, or a reason to keep track of your consumption. Flavors like white cheddar and kettle hold are the good options if you prefer spicy.

Cheese bars, rounds, or sticks—whatever shape you choose of the well-portioned treats are loaded with calcium, protein, and flavor. Also, you can pair it with one of our favorite crackers. One of the best sandwiches ever.
